Guiding Principles

THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF THE GEORGIAN BAY WOMEN'S NETWORK

TRUST
This goes without saying. We must foster an atmosphere of trust, honesty and strength Such an atmosphere allows the sharing of ideas, problem solving, mentorships and comradely. Remember Donna's phrase, "It's not competition but cooperation."

SUPPORT
Women have always understood the value of sustaining each other on a personal level. We need to transfer that value to the professional level - to champion each other and advocate for each other.

SHARING
We encourage all to be an active participant. Get involved with each other to reap the benefits of shared knowledge and experiences (good and bad). Contribute to discussions, to fellow members and non-members, to women entrepreneurs.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING
One of the goals of this membership is to increase everyone's self assurance and their conviction in their entrepreneurial situation. A byproduct of this will be increased personal confidence and a greater faith in others. At one point in time each member will be asked to speak to the group and share their business story.

NETWORKING
All of the above are the essence of networking... a coming together of individuals who find themselves in similar life / work situations to share the experience and expand that life / work situation.
